[AC-CA] Design Competition

2014 - 09 - Dubai Architecture School Tower

 

-Building crafted as a modular expression of sustainable architecture in an abrasively arid climate.

 

-Basic form derived from expressions of reclaimed 20 foot and 40 foot intermodal containers.  Residence and classroom spaces designed to be prefabricated offsite and assembled quickly once onsite.

 

-Heavy focus on structural expression, vertical circulation, and natural ventilation.

 

-Tower's flat face and main common spaces oriented toward Burj Khalifa with student residences facing West toward Arabian Gulf.
